Day 57

Jason went to a conference so I headed to my parents house so I could have a little help with Dexter. It looks like my mom and sister really mind that I went right?

Day 54

We are home! Dex is always cranky the day after a big trip so i took an extra day off. He slept most of the afternoon but i couldn't put him down because he would cry. I almost didn't get this picture.

Home again, home again

He pretty much slept the whole way home and was just as happy as us to be landing at LAX.

North Shore

We trekked out to the North Shore on our trip. Thankfully I threw the baby bjorn in my suitcase because he isn't always a fan of riding in the stroller, so this is how we explored.

Pearl Harbor

Today we visited Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial. Dex hung in there pretty well, but was tired by the end of the day.

First time in the ocean!

We went to Lanikai beach for Dexter's first time in the ocean. It was beautiful and the water was so warm, but he wasn't a fan. I think the waves scared him a bit, poor guy.

Day 50!

I can't believe I've remembered to get a pic for 50 days now!

Hawaii

Dexter's first big trip was this week. We went to Oahu for a conference that I had to attend. This is a pic of Dex while I was at my conference and they went to a botanical garden.

Poor sleepy baby! The day after we travel is always toughest on him.

He also turned 6 months old today!!! He's getting so big!

First plane ride!

I know I haven't updated for a while, I do have the pictures just not the time to update. Dex is finally starting to get better, he had to get some antibiotics and thank god they kicked in before we left yesterday. This is my 2/16/2011 pic of Jason and Dex snuggling on the plane. He was a champ and barely fussed on the plane, he slept a bit and played a bit and flirted with the cute Australian girl sitting behind us :-)

This smile makes even a bad day when you've been fighting a cold for a week and are exhausted because it's the second time you've been sick in 2 weeks, amazing!

Day 38

He's like a cat, entertained by a flashlight. It is so amazing to watch him figure things out. He was fussing a bit so my mom grabbed the flashlight from the table and started shining it all over him. He watched it so closely and tried to figure out what was going on. It was too cute!

Super Bowl

The Packers won!!!!

Day 36

Since we were already there, we spent the weekend with my folks to watch the Super Bowl. On Saturday Dex had some fun.

First we went shopping, when we got home he sat with Dad for a bit:

Day 35

Unfortunately a family friend passed away this week. I knew her my entire life and she was a very generous woman. I thought it would be appropriate to attend her memorial which meant hustling up to the high desert on a Friday night. Not awesome. But we made it and everyone got to see Dex and we got to pay our respects to Kitty.

Here is Dex with my dad (Grandpa Dave) at the memorial.

Dex was pretty jealous of Grandpa's cup of water so we got him one to try also.

He seemed to like it until he actually got a sip.

Sophie

Dexter got a Sophie for Christmas and so far he loves it! It doesn't seem like much more than a dog toy, but there is something about the shape and texture that makes it the perfect teething toy for him. He stays pretty occupied when we give it to him.

Day 33

Dex woke up a little early this morning so we played a bit but I had to finish putting on makeup and doing my hair. I propped him up in our bed so he couldn't fall off and gave him his favorite Mickey Mouse stuffed animal to play with. I went into our bathroom to get ready and when I came out to check on him, he looked like this picture. He cracks me up!

1 Month Down!

I'm pretty shocked that I've stuck with this for a whole month so far, only 11 more to go!

Dexter's new thing is lunging toward whatever he wants. It has actually caught me off guard a couple times and I've had to dive to stop him. He really likes the computer and tries to get it every chance he gets. Today's pic is of me  saving him from diving into the computer face first.
