Day 30

We had a very fussy baby on our hands today. I had every intention of getting everything done around the house that needed to be done, but unfortunately poor Dex was having a tough time and wouldn't calm down unless I was with him.

I did go to change his diaper at one point and couldn't get him to lay down because he was mesmerized by the ceiling fan. I seriously don't know why we bothered buying him a mobile, he loves a good ceiling fan!

San Diego Zoo

Dexter's first zoo trip! It was a lot of fun. We met up with family that also happened to be going to the zoo and had a great time wandering around and checking out all of the animals and fun stuff that the zoo has to offer.

Day 28

Dexter wasn't feeling great, his cold was a little worse. But we still had a good time playing with Betsey.

Happy Birthday Jason (Dad)!

Unfortunately Jason's birthday was on a Thursday this year so we didn't do anything too exciting. Dexter was in an exceptionally happy mood and was hilarious and cracking himself up.

Day 26

Most fun EVER!!! He has found a new "scream" that he likes to use if he is really excited. He screams a lot in the johnny jump up :) And makes some awesome faces, as you can see.

Chick Magnet

That's what this kid is. I keep telling my single friends that he can totally help them meet girls :)

I'm a slacker

I've been taking pictures everyday, but not updating the blog. I'm going to catch up tonight and try to be more diligent :)

Day 24:

We tried some carrots (which I made for him!) and so far he isn't really a fan, but I'm confident he will start to like them. I wouldn't like carrots without any seasoning or anything either. I'm not sure how he got the carrots all over his face, but he did. Must be my kid :)

Kitty!

We have 2 beast cats. They aren't big fans of having the baby around and have never been fans of me.  This presents quite the dilemma when Jason is holding the baby and they want attention.

P.S - This picture was taken before we changed Dex out of his jammies. He did wear his Packer outfit and they did win the NFC Championship!!!

Day 22

The poor kid was having trouble breathing through his nose and after he woke up around 4am he couldn't go back to sleep if I had him lay flat. So we headed downstairs and got comfy on the couch. He was out super quick once he could breathe. Once he woke up he was a very happy baby so we played a bit with his gloworm.

Day 21

Dex had more fun with Grandma today since she stayed the night to avoid traffic.

The cat cracks me up. This is Dex and Grandma hanging out and watching some tv.

Day 20

Grandma Kim (my mom) has a conference in Orange County tomorrow and so she came to our house to cut an hour off her commute in the morning. It worked out well for me because she took over feeding Dex the rice cereal while I did dishes and Jason worked. Plus Dex loves his Grandma Kim so much, I'm sure it was a nice change from mom and dad feeding him.

Grandma Kim is staying at our house again tomorrow night so she doesn't get stuck in Vegas traffic so it looks like it'll be another fun night of playing with Grandma!

Happy Birthday Aunt Heather!

He has been a crank pants since he's been so sick. He fought me all night and wouldn't go to sleep, finally he relaxed and got some sleep.

Day 18

I just really love this kid!

We both started to feel better today, he was apparently cranky all day long but finally relaxed when I got home. So we spent some snuggle time on the couch.

Happy Birthday Grandpa!

So, my cold turned into strep. Al's cold has become bronchitis and now Dexter's cold is something new. I got antibiotics today and am hoping to schedule a appointment at the pediatrician for Dex tomorrow. Poor thing is cranky and not feeling good. I did get one sorta good pic to show off his awesome Bruce Springsteen onesie!

It was also Grandpa Dave's Birthday today, Happy Birthday!!

A break in the birthdays

We stayed at Grandma and Grandpa's house for an extra day so I could go see the MD on Monday morning and save us a trip to urgent care for antibiotics. This weekend Dex decided he was going to grab at everyone's glass of water and try to drink it and also try to eat everyone's food. We had intended to wait until 6 months to start, but decided to give solid foods at try early since he seemed so interested. I'm glad we did, he LOVED it and was a little upset when his bowl of rice cereal was gone.This kid is getting bigger and bigger!

Happy Birthday Me!

My Birthday is today, we celebrated by going out to dinner for all of the January birthdays with my family back home. We spent the weekend there which was nice because I was able to get some rest while Grandma spoiled Dex :) It was a great present.

Grandma and Grandpa borrowed cousin Maddy's jumperoo and Dex was a fan!

Let's start the January Birthdays!

Everyone but my little sister and Dex are born this month, in my immediate family. It's a tough month right after Christmas to have 5 birthdays, 4 of which are in the same week.

To start it off is my mom. Happy Birthday Mom (Grandma Kim)!

Poor Dex is still not feeling great, and my cold turned into strep :(

Puppy!

Dex loves Betsey, and thankfully she puts up with how he loves her ... by bopping her on the head and pulling her ears.

Good Day, eh! and Welcome to Day 12

Still playing catch up from being sick. This kid LOVES to be superbaby, I definitely see a future of roller coasters for him :)

Day Eleven

This is a couple days late. Unfortunately I caught Dex's cold and haven't had much energy to do anything that isn't absolutely necessary. I did take a pic though (it was necessary) :)

I'm on the mend, but still feeling pretty bad. But it's ok, because I love this kid!

Sick

Dex is still sick and now my nose is stuffy. So without further ado:

Day 10:

Poor kid

Poor Dex has his first cold, so far he's been in good spirits, just has a stuffy nose and gets frustrated when I have to clean it out.

His cold didn't stop him from donning his Packer clothes and rooting for them (he actually slept through most of the game, but that doesn't matter). They won their first playoff game!

It's been one week

And now I can't get that song out of my head!

Dex is a jumpin' fool, probably one of the best gifts we received.

Dr. Seuss

Dex has a Dr. Seuss nursery, which means he gets every cute Dr. Seuss thing we see.

Disney Baby

Our family is huge Disney fans. I used to have the ultimate hook up because Jason worked for the mouse and we got some killer perks. I still have a hard time paying full price for stuff and to get into the park :)

The point of this is that Dex is turning out to enjoy Disney just as much as the rest of us, as you can see by his favorite toy. I love the look on his face in this picture, it's like he is saying "could you leave me alone! I'm trying to play with my toy!"

All Clean

After Dex gets a bath I put him in the Bumbo to brush his hair. Today Al started playing peek-a-boo with him and here is the resulting Day 4 pic :

Good Morning Happy Baby!

My most favorite time with Dex is the mornings, he is at his happiest. I miss it so much now that I am back at work and while I love my job, I love my bugs even more. This morning he woke up before I was ready so I laid him on our bed while I finished my makeup and hair. When I was done I went to get him and this was how I found him:

He was smiling, but the second I put up the camera for a picture, he got curious and just stared. Everything goes into his mouth nowadays, and whenever he is laying near something he manages to snag it and put it on his face. It's hilarious, and I'm beginning to see how kids really keep you on your toes.

I miss my maternity leave for the mornings with Dex but I enjoy the weekends that much more now.

I come from a family of Packer fans, today is a very important game for them so in support we wore our Packer best!
